Artists naturally struggle to capture perfection. This desire for perfection can inhibit their ability to progress their art in fear of failing to achieve perfection. Often the fear can be so great that they will hesitate to even put the first mark on the paper. I aim to help others realize that perfection is not required to capture inspiration.
In most instances, creativity arises from constraints, requiring new ways of thinking to adapt.
The ability to bring two different components together and relate them through shape, size, content, or color is vital to the creative process.
Paper as Sacred
Its hard not to treat untouched paper as sacred, but in order to be comfortable drawing you have to break that illusion.
Classes will span over four days and utilize graphite, water color, and ink & brush to help teach confidence in one’s own ability. Materials will be supplied.
